Beauty Quick Tip: The Best Way to Prep Oily Eyelids!

Beauty Quick Tip: The Best Way to Prep Oily Eyelids!

I have extremely oily eyelids and I know from experience just how disappointing it can be to spend so much time on a beautiful eye look just to have it crease up an hour later! I have tried several different methods to fight the inevitable creasing issue and nothing has worked quite as well as this method! If you struggle with oily eyelids and creasing I hope this Quick Tip will be just as helpful for you as it is for me!

Step 1:

First things first, you are going to want to start with an eye primer all over your lid and up to your brow. You can use whichever one is your favorite. My personal favorite is the Too Faced Shadow Insurance but if you are looking for a more affordable option the NYX Professional Makeup Proof It! Waterproof Eyeshadow Primer is also a good choice!

Step 2:

Next you will want to set the eye primer with a setting powder. I have found that pressed powders tend to work a bit better, but you can definitely use a loose powder if that is what you have. You will want to make sure that the entire eyelid is well set before moving on to the next step! My personal favorite is the Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish Setting Powder. A good drugstore option is the Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless Finishing Powder.

Step 3:

I know this will feel odd but for the next step you will want to apply a light amount of concealer all over your eyelids (up to your brows). I typically will apply a small amount to the center of my lid and blend it out with my finger. My personal favorite is the Tarte Shape Tape Concealer but the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer is also a really good option!

Step 4:

For the last step, you will once again set your eyelids with the setting powder used in Step 2, making sure to cover your entire lid up to your brow! Once you complete this steps your eyelids are prepped and ready for whatever eye look you are wanting to do!
